In addition our players were exposed to drills, both team and individual, that enhanced our defensive performance during the season. The CDC staff is enthusiastic and they work hard to provide a controlled atmosphere which is safe. Statistically, our defense went from LAST in 2005 to first in our league in 2006. In 2007 we had 20 interceptions, with 2 for touchdowns and 17 fumble recoveries, with 6 going for touchdowns. Our defense gave up 190 yards per game, which ranked 2ndin the East Bay. It is pretty clear to me that we can all learn and get better if we have an open mind. Several of the things we learned at camp have become very regular in our defensive philosophy.
